Expansion!

Link and Learn has expanded into the sixth grade with a concentration on science and math.  Below is a picture of student artwork from a group of Hartford/Granby sixth grade students after learning about the mathematical patterns found in nature, including Fibonacci's Golden Ratio.  The artwork from this program will be on display at Kelly Lane School in Granby and Kennelly School in Hartford.  Milner and Moylan schools have just recently joined this program.

Teacher Workshops 2007:

Fall:

Winter:

Thank you to all of you that came to the teacher workshop this past Friday!  We’re still enjoying some of the delicious soup here!  It’s wonderful to meet with you all and see you interacting with each other in such a positive way.  You and your students are the reasons we enjoy our jobs and want to make a successful program!  Thank you for your enthusiasm.

A few things of note:

  1. Website
    1. Obviously you know about it if you're reading this here.  :)
  2. Family Day
    1. If Sunday is a definite, then the two dates to choose from are June 1 and June 8, along with the best time.  The time of 2:30 – 5:30pm or so has seemed a good time in the past.  Remember, your attendance is optional; however, typically your class attendance changes based on whether or not you go.
    2. I will send around an email early in the year to have you vote on when you want family day.  Before then, go to the blog to share your opinions with the other teachers.
